Our 2025–26 season, TIME, honors five decades of extraordinary music and community.
Programs & Ensembles
Since its beginnings as a small string orchestra in 1976, EYSO has grown into a dynamic program featuring nine large ensembles—including full orchestras, string orchestras, and specialized groups for brass, percussion, and flute—as well as nearly thirty chamber music ensembles through its Chamber Music Institute. These programs provide a comprehensive and progressive musical journey for students from elementary school through college.
Youth Symphony, EYSO’s flagship ensemble, unites advanced high school and college musicians for top-tier repertoire, coaching, and performances.
Sinfonia is an ensemble for intermediate middle and high school musicians, emphasizing technical growth, ensemble skills, and musicianship.
Prelude Orchestra is for early-intermediate string players in grades 5–9, building technique and independence through diverse repertoire.
Primo is EYSO’s entry-level string ensemble for grades 4–8, building fundamentals. Primo Intermezzo (invite-only) plays more advanced music.
EYSO’s Chamber Music Institute open to all students whether they are in a large ensemble or not, offer small ensembles, weekly coaching, and performances.
Flute Choir brings together flutists from Sinfonia, Philharmonia, and beyond to explore tone, technique, and ensemble playing with specialized repertoire.
Brass Choir is for brass players in Youth Symphony, Philharmonia, and Sinfonia, focusing on technique, collaboration, and repertoire.
Percussion Ensembles provide technique, repertoire, coaching, and rehearsals for percussionists of all levels to build confidence and orchestral skills.
