EYSO's 37th season: "INVENTION"
Music is more than just a pleasant diversion. It is a lens to view the human experience, a special way of understanding reality, a way to communicate what we know about the world (and ourselves). The EYSO has long believed that the comprehensive study and performance of great music offers just such an opportunity to dig deeper. Music sharpens our thinking, engage our imagination, and expand our perception.
Because music is a way of "knowing" (like math or science or language), it has much to teach us about the way we think, the way we use symbols, the way we create systems - the way we are human.

BLUEPRINT

Composers, inventors, playwrights, and architects all depend on a piece of paper to communicate their ideas, so someone else can realize them. This concert traces the path from composition to performance, via the blueprint of a musical score.
